VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES

5 Hole GOLFERS – Coronado

  1. All golfers tee off from gold tees.
  2. After you reach 8 strokes and are not on the green, you must pick up your ball and drop it on the front of the green closest to the hole.
  3. You then have 4 putts to get the ball in the hole or move on to the next hole. A maximum of 12 strokes per hole.
  4. Swings and misses (whiffs) count as strokes.
  5. A ball hit in the water or out-of-bounds may be dropped 2 club lengths from where it entered with a 1 stroke penalty.
  6. Lost Ball, drop a ball at point last seen, 1 stroke penalty.
  7. Free Drop from rocky areas. Drop at the nearest grassy area not nearer the flag stick.
  8. Be-aware of safety at all times.
  9. Use good golf etiquette at all times, including being ready to hit when it is your turn.
  10. Junior’s clubs may or may not ride as directed, but Juniors must walk while playing (tee to green). Juniors may ride in the cart to the first hole, between holes and back from the 5th hole. Be sure the Junior is sitting in the cart facing forward and hands and feet are inside the cart. No more than two Juniors per cart.

 

9 & 18 HOLERS – Coronado Golf Course

  1. 18 hole golfers are to score another golfer in his/her group and also keeps his/her own score. 9 hole golfers are to keep their own score. The volunteer will also keep score. Write neatly.
  2. Compare scores after each hole with your scorer and after completing the round. Sign all cards – your official card and the card you kept.
  3. Tees – Men hit from the white, ladies from the gold.
  4. On holes 2 and 9, if you hit in the water, (drop a ball outside the water hazard within two club-lengths of and not nearer the hole than)
  5. All U.S.G.A. rules apply except lost ball and out of bounds,
  6. Out of Bounds – the player must play a ball, under penalty of one stroke, as nearly as possible at the spot the ball went out of bounds.
  7. Lost Ball – the player must play a ball, under penalty of one stroke, as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last seen.
  8. Free drop from rocky areas. Drop at the nearest grassy area not nearer the flag stick.
  9. Be-aware of safety at all times. Stay to side and behind the person hitting.
  10. Be-ready to hit when it is your turn.
  11. Always use good golf etiquette.
  12. Throwing clubs, horse play and cursing will not be tolerated.
  13. All 9 and 18 hole players must walk.
  14. Clubs may ride if directed by starter or volunteers.
