HSV JUNIOR GOLF - 2024 SEASON
The executive board of the HSV Junior Golf Program would like to welcome all junior golfers (ages 8 to 18 or senior in high school) to join the program and enjoy the benefits of membership. Safety is our utmost concern and we will be following all required guidelines as stated by the governor and the Property Owner’s Association. At this time wearing a mask is optional.
The membership also provides the opportunity for golf at Coronado Golf Course anytime for $5 (excluding cart) and at other Village courses after 2 p.m. for $5 (excluding cart). Juniors are encouraged to walk whenever possible.
Orientation will be held on Monday, June 5th, at Balboa Pavilion at 4 p.m. For those who do not live in the Village you will need to inform the people at the gate you are here for the Junior Golf Program Orientation. After that, you will need to show the Junior Golf Membership to enter.
The program is every Wednesday (lessons) and Thursday (play Coronado Golf Course) thru June & July (excluding Wednesday, July 5th & 6th). Please refer to the Information Sheet for more detailed information about the program and orientation (attached to the printed application & available on the website).
To make the program a success, we need VOLUNTEERS!
WEDNESDAYS – CART DRIVERS are needed at Magellan to transport the 5-hole golfers from the parking lot across the street to the practice area & back. Parents & guardians, please help as much as you can when you bring your junior to practice.
WEDNESDAYS – INSTRUCTORS are needed at both Magellan and Granada. Please note that instructors at Magellan do not necessarily have to be highly skilled. These beginners need the basic stance, grip, and swing pattern. Magellan practice session is from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Granada practice session runs from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
THURSDAYS – CART DRIVERS are needed to accompany the junior golfers on the course. One volunteer is needed for 18-& 9-hole players to ensure scores are validated and that players follow golf etiquette.
- 18-hole player tee times start at 9:00 a.m. (usually on the course for 3-4 hours).
- 9-hole player tee times follow around 9:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. (usually on the course 1 ½-2 hours).
- 5-hole player tee times start around 10:00 a.m. - 12 Noon. Two volunteers are needed (usually on the course 1 ½ to 2 hours.
